Year of the Rabbit Pop Up Cards - Celebrate Lunar New Year/ Chinese New Year with this fun Rabbit Craftivity!

Students love making pop up cards - using the correct techniques, pop up Lunar New Year Cards are super easy to make. Once students have learnt a basic technique, they are encourage to design their own Pop Up Cards for other occassions! This tutorial shares how to make a a Rabbit for Chinese New Year exploring the Animal Zodiac.

Kids will love making this simple Rabbit Card. A great simple STEAM project, that encourages reading skills (following instructions) as well as writing skills when adding personalized messages to your card.

This pop up Rabbit is designed around simple shapes, to allow for easy cutting.

Be mindful that there are “lucky” and “unlucky” themes in the Lunar New Year and encourage the students to include these. For example –

Lucky colors: Red, Pink, Purple and Blue

Unlucky Colors: White, Dark Yellow, Dark Brown
